<Description>
<DescriptionText><text>
This parameter can be used to nullify head misalignment errors when measuring
plate thicknesses.
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
On the Trendsetter Autoloader, sometimes more than one plate is picked and
loaded onto the drum. If multiple plate detection is turned on for the media
type currently being imaged, then the firmware will use the focus laser to measure
the thickness of the plate while doing the focus learn. Any misalignment of the
thermal head will cause the focus laser to measure incorrect thicknesses.
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
If the Trendsetter detects multiple plates on the drum, it will suspend with the error:
"Multiple plates on drum (or head out of alignment by xx microns). Cancel image to
unload plate."
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
If this error comes up with a single plate on the drum, the head is most likely out of
alignment. The head should be realigned. Until Service can do this, the misalignment
can be compensated by adding the value given in the error message (xx in this case) to
the head_compensation parameter. Before changing this parameter, make sure that the
plate thickness was entered correctly, and that the error also occurs on any other media
types for which multiple plate detection is enabled.
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
Making this parameter more positive will cause the measured thickness to decrease, while
making it more negative will cause the measured thickness to increase.
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
If the 'verbose plot' parameter is set to 1, then the measured plate thickness will be
displayed for each plate if multiple plate detection is enabled.

<Notes>
<DescriptionText><text>
The best way to fix head misalignment problems is to realign the head. This compensation
parameter should only be used temporarily, until Creo Service can get to the site.
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
This parameter is only available in firmware versions 1.20 and above.
